Other note

Born ca. 1683. Daughter of George Hooper (1640-1727), bishop of Bath and Wells, and Abigail Guilford (1654/5–1726) of Lambeth, who married in 1679. Abigail Hooper married John Prowse of Axbridge (d. 1710) sometime between 1702, the death of his first wife, and 1707, the birth of their son, Thomas. John became a Tory MP for Somerset in 1708, with the support of his father-in-law. Abigail wrote a short biography of her father, 'Some Memorandums concerning Bishop Hooper' (LPL, MS 3016), along with transcribing some of his sermons. Died in 1763 in Axbridge at age 80. Her son Thomas was a MP for Somerset from 1740 until his death in 1767.
