Leather-bound notebook with remains of clasps. On verso of front flyleaf is an ephitaph dated October 1670. The recto of the following page is signed “Stephen Monteage: Anno 1644. This booke contaynes the copies of all my bonds & ingagements. Those w[hi]ch are crosst are cancelled 1665.” The notebook starts with sermon notes in shorthand, but subsequent pages were used for business purposes. The foliation is modern. The preaching information is a mix of longhand and shorthand while the notes are entirely in shorthand. Each page is divided into two columns. The sermons are written out very neatly, suggesting that they were written later from notes taken during the sermons. |
