Son of Thomas Rosewell and Anne Wanley. Educated at St. Paul's School, London; Ker's academy, Bethnal Green; MA from an unknown Scottish university. Private chaplain to Lady Clinton until her death in 1707. Presbyterian assistant at Silver Street Chapel, Cheapside, London; Sunday evening lecturer at the Old Jewry, London. Moved to Founder's Hall, Lothbury, in 1713. Held evening lectureship until his death in October 1719.
