Other note

Born ca. 1628 in Llansilin, Denbighshire to Robert Matriculated from All Souls' College, Oxford, 1644. Removed by puritan visitor in 1648, but apparently later appeased them enough to obtain a scholarship at Jesus College and earn his BA, 1649. Employed as a preacher by the approvers of the Act for the Better Propagation of the Gospel in Wales. Sinecure rector of Llanrhaeadr-ym- Mochnant, Denbighshire 1653. Ejected after the Restoration but continued to live in Denbighshre with his wife, Abigail and their children. They agreed to separate in 1666. He spent the rest of his career as a Welsh writer, publishing his Ffydd ddi-ffuant in 1667 - a martyrology based on John Foxe's Actes and Monuments. The date and location of his death are unknown, ca. 1691.
