B.A. (1649), M.A. (1652) from Wadham College, Oxford, and fellow there (1650-1661). Rector of Theydon Garnon, Essex, 1654-1657. Briefly chaplain to Oliver Cromwell. Preacher at East Peter's Church, Exeter beginning around 1657. He was ejected from East Peter's Church in 1660, and thereafter became a minister at St John's Church, Exeter, but was ejected again in 1662. Thereafter he continued preaching and was licensed as a Presbyterian in 1672, but he was repeatedly fined for holding conventicles at his house.
