Other note

Matthew Fowler of Penford, co. Stafford, matriculated from Christ Church in 1634 and graduated B.A. in 1637-8. He proceeded M.A. at Queens' College, Cambridge in 1641 and D.D. per Literas Regias in 1660. He was made rector of Willey, co. Warwick in 1648 and then again upon the Restoration in 1660, rector of St Alphage in Cripplegate, London in 1662, and rector of Whitchurch in 1667. He was canon of Lichfield from 1667 until his death. He died in 1683.
