Forent appears to have been a minister of Sion, in Bretagne, France before his exile to England. His name is affixed to a letter signed by French refugee ministers in England on March 30, 1691, that forms part of the papers documenting the Huguenot immigration to Virginia. John Southerden Burn identifies him as a minister at "La Patente en Spital Fields" in 1688
