Jasper (Gasper, alias Casper) Needham matriculated from Peterhouse, Cambridge in 1641; he graduated B.A. in 1644/5, proceeded M.A. in 1648, and graduated M.D. in 1657. He was a candidate of the Royal College of Physicians in 1657, Fellow of the Royal Society in 1663, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 1668, and censor in 1673 and 1677. Venn describes him as 'a physician of great practice in London'. He died on 31 October 1679 at the age of 59 and was buried in St. Bride's, Fleet Street, London.
