Probably the religious controversialist William Charke (d. 1617): graduated Peterhouse, Cambridge (BA 1562/3; MA 1566); fellow of Peterhouse; lecturer, Gray's Inn (1575); lecturer, Lincoln's Inn (1581); suspended from lectureship in 1593 due to presbyterian beliefs, but continued to preach in London on an occasional basis.
