fl. 1670. It is difficult to identify a preacher with this surname who was also D.D. The problem is exacerbated by the various spellings (Dowle, Dowlie, Dowley, etc.) of this name. It could possibly be John Dowle, who proceeded D.D. from Jesus College, Oxford in 1628.
