Other note

Born in Idle, West Riding of Yorkshire, to John Wales in 1588. Matriculated from Trinity College, Cambridge in 1605; BA, 1608; MA, 1612. Ordained priest in May 1611, and became curate at Pudsey Chapel, Calverley, West Riding of Yorkshire, from 1615 until his ejection in 1662. Biographical sources are less clear on his activities after this point. SI suggests that by 1665 he lived in Newcastle-on-Tyne, whereas ACAD says he was minister as Laslington, near Barnard Castle, County Durham, in 1667, and then preacher at Leeds until his death 10/11 May 1669.
