Precise date of birth unknown, but Cornish matriculated at New Inn Hall, Oxford in 1631 at age 20. B.A. (1634), M.A. 1636/7) from New Inn Hall. Created B.D. in 1648 and D.D. in 1649. Canon of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford from 1648 until shortly after the Restoration. Rector of St Giles in the Fields, London beginning in 1647. Nonconformist preacher at Stanton Harcourt and Bicester, both in Oxfordshire.
