B.A. (1639), M.A. (1642) from Queen's College, Oxford. Thereafter schoolmaster at a grammar school in Tetbury, Gloucestershire before returning to Oxford. Granted B.D. in 1657. Principle of St Edmund Hall, 1658-1676. Created D.D. in 1660. Chaplain in ordinary to King Charles II. Rector of Grittleton, Wiltshire from 1658 until his death in 1676. He was briefly Dean of Ripon Cathedral from April 1675 until his death.
