Other note

Fl. 1650. Owner of V.a.339. The cataloguer notes that this is not Bishop Joseph Hall (1574-1656). This makes the most likely candidate the John Hall who was rector of Lawton, Cheshire beginning in 1674. This latter Hall is probably the one who matriculated from Wadham College, Oxford, in 1641/2 at age 16. He was admitted to Emmanuel College, Cambridge in 1645. Hall was buried in Lawton on 10 August 1679. AO and ACAD differ on the details of his degrees. He got his B.A. either from Emmanuel College in 1646, or from Christ Church, Oxford, in 1648. M.A. in 1649, either from Emmanuel or Wadham.
