Biographical Sources Consulted

ODNB; SI (ID: 2486); ACAD (Venn) (ID: BNT628J2). The SI and ACAD entries seem to combine information about both preachers named John Bond, as explained below.

Other note

According to ODNB (Article: 2826), there were two clergymen named John Bond, both from Dorset, both educated by John White, rector of Dorchester. They have often been confused. One, the subject of the ODNB article, was Master of Trinity Hall, Cambridge (1612-1676). The preacher of the associated sermons is the other John Bond, minister of Exeter, and Master of the Savoy, 1645-1660 (a post often misattributed to his contemporary). Possibly a member of the Westminster Assembly in 1643. Ejected in 1660.
