Arthur Bright matriculated as a pensioner at Christ's College, Cambridge in November 1569, proceeding M.A. in 1576 and D.D. in 1589. He was ordained at Ely on 21 December 1576. From 1583 until 1586, Bright was Rector of St Swithin, London. He was Rector of Castle Camps, Cambridgeshire, from 1585 until 1590. He subsequently became Rector of St Botolph's, Bishopsgate in 1590, and Rector of St Martin Outwich in 1591, holding both posts until 1600, when he became Rector of Great Wigborough, Essex. Bright was also prebendary of St Paul's from 22 October 1590 until his death in Great Wigborough before March 1618.
