Born sometime in October 1633. B.A. (1653), M.A. (1657) from Clare College, Cambridge, and fellow there (1657/8). Rector of Adel, Leeds from 1660 until ejected in 1662. Preached at Morley, Yorkshire in 1672. Also probably preached at Mill Hill Chapel, Leeds. ACAD (Venn) gives his date of death as 27 August 1693, but the manuscript containing his funeral sermon gives it as 7 August.
