The exact birth date of Robert Todd is unknown. He matriculated sizar from Jesus College, Cambridge in Easter 1614, graduating B.A. in 1617/18 and proceeding M.A. in 1627. Todd was ordained as deacon and priest by Tobie Matthew in York in May 1618 and 2 September 1621, respectively. Gurney's notes state that he was appointed a curate at Swinefleet, Yorkshire in 1621 but there is no record of this in the CCEd. He was appointed Vicar at Ledsham with Fairburn in 1625, a post he held until 1635. He was appointed Lecturer in Leeds in 1631, and then appointed as a curate at St John's, Leeds and licensed to preach in Leeds Parish Church in 1634. Gurney's notes state that he was ejected in 1662. Robert Todd died on 16 January 1664 at the age of sixty-seven.
