Date of birth unknown; ACAD (Venn) estimates 1586. Graduated BA from St John's college, Cambridge in 1607/8. Ordained as a Deacon in York Minster on 8 March 1612, and as a priest 7 June 1612 by Tobias Matthew. A preacher throughout the diocese in York. Gurney's notes say that there are records that he was in York in the 1620s and 30s and nominated by Parliament as Lecturer at Kirkby Lonsdale in 1642.
