Graduated MA from St Andrews University, 6 January 1681. Became minister of at Crawford, Lanarkshire on 27 June 1682. Removed at the Glorious Revolution. Was still alive on 19 February 1696. Married and had a child, Isobel, who married the writer James Nasmyth.
