Called 19 September 1706 and ordained on 12 December 1706, becoming minister at Tolbooth Kirk, Edinburgh. Transferred to the High Kirk Parish (St Giles) on 5 November 1710. Became Dean of the Chapel Royal in 1735. Author of The Necessity of Divine Revelation (1730).
