Born ca. 1590. Admitted sizar to Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge on 25 September 1606. Gained his BA from Magdalene College, Cambridge in 1610. Ordained at Peterborough on 7 June 1612. Curate of Nailstone, Leicestershire from 1611 to 1614. Curate of Gorton, Lancashire from 1623 to 1634. Known to have preached at Northenden, Cheshire in 1643 and 1647. Minister of Sowerby Chapel from 1645 to 1662, when he was ejected and imprisoned in York Castle for three months. Father of Timothy Roote, born 1653. Died 20 October 1669, aged ca. 80.
