fl. 1654. He is described in West Yorkshire (Halifax) SH:3/S/3 as being "Of Coley". The GEMMS biographical sources do not list any preacher named Elwood or Ellwood who was connected to Coley, Yorkshire. One possibility is Samuel Elwood (b. 1620) who was vicar of Bishopthorpe, Yorkshire (1658-1662) (ACAD [Venn] ID: ELWT635S). Note that the author of the manuscript distinguishes Ellwood "Of Illingworth" from Ellwood "Of Coley".
