Born at Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Precise date unknown, but Port was admitted to St John's College, Cambridge in 1636 at age 18. B.A. (1639/40) from St John's. Rector of Garvestone, Norfolk, 1654-1662. Vicar of Shepshed, Leicestershire, 1665-1670. Buried at Shepshed on 26 January 1671.
