Benjamin Needler was born on 29 November 1620 at Laleham, Middlesex. He was admitted to Merchant Taylors' School on 11 September 1634. Needler subsequently matriculated at St John's College, Oxford on 1 July 1642. He was awarded a Bachelor of Civil Laws degree on 14 April 1648. On 8 August 1648, Needler became rector of St Margaret Moses, London. In August 1662, he was ejected from his parish. He retired to North Warnborough, Hampshire, where he died in October 1682.
