Other note

The exact birth date of John Workman is unknown. Originally from Gloucestershire, he matriculated at St Alban Hall, Oxford on 3 June 1608 at the age of eighteen. He graduated B.A. on 27 May 1611 and proceeded M.A. on 8 July 1614. He became the city lecturer of Gloucester, and was tried by High Commission for preaching before the assize judges against images, denouncing dancing, and allegedly calling for the election of ministers in 1633.
