Other note
Born on South Street, Cambridge MA, to Jonas Clarke, a Ruling Elder, and his second wife Elizabeth Clarke. He graduated from Harvard College in the class of 1670. In 1676, he spent seven weeks in the army at Narraganset. He was unanimously called to the ministry at Chelmsford, where he had an annual salary of £80. During the witch craft trials, Clark was a mediating force and Chelmsford was unaffected by the hysteria. He married twice, first to Mary (d. 2 December 1700) with whom he had children, and in 1702 he married Elizabeth, Daughter of Samuel Whiting. He died of a fever.
