The exact birth date of Samuel Bamford (Balmford) is unknown. Born in London, he was admitted a pensioner at Emmanuel College, Cambridge on 24 April 1612. In 1616, he graduated B.A., proceeding M.A. in 1619. He was patronised by Lady Mary Vere and her husband, Sir Horace, at their residence in The Hague, Netherlands. From 1652 until 1657, he was rector of St Alban's, Wood Street. He bequeathed several printed books to Sion College in 1652 (see link below). Samuel Bamford died in 1657. Bamford is mentioned briefly in Sarah Mortimer, Reason and Religion in the English Revolution: The Challenge of Socinianism (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2010), p. 106.
