The exact birth date of Thomas Holborough is unknown. He was admitted pensioner at Emmanuel College, Cambridge on 18 February 1617/8. Elected a scholar, he graduated B.A. in 1621/2 and proceeded M.A. in 1625. From 1628 he was vicar of Battisford, Suffolk, and he also held the rectory of Akenham from 1661.
