William Adams was born on 27 May 1650 at Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard College in 1671. On 3 December 1673, he was ordained; he subsequently became minister at Dedham, Massachusetts, where he served until his death on 17 August 1685. His surviving publications include The Necessity of The Pouring out of the Spirit from on High, &c. (Boston, MA, 1679) and God's Eye on the Contrite, &c. (Boston, MA, 1685).
