Author of at least five sermons contained in 3 collections dating from c.1603-1625: BL Royal MS 16 E. XIX (3 sermons, French, dedicated to James I and members of his household); BL Royal MS 17 B. XXI (one sermon, addressed to James I); and BL Royal MS A. LII (one sermon, addressed to Prince Charles). The BL Royal Manuscript Catalogue states that J. Hopper was "evidently a Scotchman" (entry for MS 17 B. XXI), although there is no one with this surname and first initial in FES.
