This manuscript contains diaries, poems and Tudor songs and ballads, in addition to ‘An Exhortacyon To Cranmer’ written by James Brooks, Bishop of Gloucester (ff. 3r–27r). There is a report of a sermon preached by one ‘P[ar]son Hyberdyne’ (f. 43r–43v) and a sermon on Matthew 18:3 preached by John Stubs at Gloucester in 1559 (ff. 164r-170r). Finally, there is also a manual on confession written in Middle English (ff. 46r–65r) and ‘Regula beati benedicti’, written in Middle English (ff. 66r–119v).

On the opening flyleaves, the following has been written in two different seventeenth century hands: ‘Henry Sauill’ and ‘Ex dono Joh[n] Anstis Arm[iger]’.
