Contents Note

A volume of historical and academic papers, written in the hand of the antiquary Thomas Baker (1656-1740). There are accounts of several Colleges of the University of Cambridge (copied from Thomas Fuller), copies of letters and wills, and extracts from William Camden's manuscripts. According to Baker's inscription on f. 1r, this is Volume 6 of a series. There is a list of contents on ff. 2r-3r.

Acquisition

The Harleian Library was founded by Robert Harley, First Earl of Oxford (1661-1724). According to Cyril Ernest Wright, Robert Harley 'was primarily interested in English historical and political material and in volumes of sermons and theological controversy, sharing in the latter the taste of his Harley ancestors'.
