Notes taken by Thomas, 3rd Baron Fairfax, on sermons by Richard Stretton and several other preachers (ff. 2-161b). Also contains sermon notes taken by Fairfax's wife, Anne.
Notebook (rebound). Notes at front of volume list the preachers and identify the notetakers as Thomas and Anne Fairfax. These notes refer to the second notetaker as Mary Fairfax, not Anne: "These sermon notes are the handwriting of Tho: Lord Fa / Those of Mr. Bowle and Mr. Cartwright (at the other end) were writ by the Lady Mary Fairfax dauter to the Lord Vere."
From the papers of Ralph Thoresby.

The precise creation date is unknown, but it must be no later than 1671, the year of Fairfax's death. As most of the identifiable preachers in the volume were active beginning around the 1650s, the date is probably no earlier than 1650.
