This manuscript contains two presentation copies of sermons, attributed to George Abbot. According to the Lambeth Palace Library online catalogue, the attribution is based on style and content. Several obscure allusions within the sermons reappear in Abbot's 'Briefe Description of the Whole Worlde' (1599) and 'An Exposition upon the Prophet Jonah' (1600). Both sermons appear with title pages. They are preceded by an epistle addressed ‘To the Christian reader’ (ff. 3r–4v). This epistle is dated ‘April. 1. 1593’. Notably, both sermons begin with a reference to the Fall of Man.
