Provenance

The following is written on the front flyleaf: 'Occasional Sermons. This is in Bp Stillingfleets Handwriting Given me by my Neice ES. Stillingfleet 1795'. There are also some shorthand characters on this page.

Acquisition

Sold at Sotheby's on 17 December 1981 (lot 162) as the property of M. R. E. Stillingfleet, and purchased with the aid of the Friends of the National Libraries and the Friends of Lambeth Palace Library.
