MS 1092b
Creation Date
ca. 1640 - 1660
Contents Note

Miscellany of six printed items, including 26 manuscript sermons on Acts 16, verses 30 and 31 (pp. 1-413). The sermons are grouped together without consistent numeration indicating where one ends and the next begins. The printed items suggest a Presbyterian context in mid seventeenth-century London.

Material Features

Calf binding, 17th c., re-backed. 194 x 150mm. Manuscript sermons are in mid-seventeenth-century hand. Sermons are ruled on all four margins, with the right margin very closely cropped. Many manicules in the margin. Occasionally, a marginal note in red ink indicates which numbered sermon begins there, but the practice is not consistent.

Acquisition

Recorded in Andrew Coltee's Ducarel's catalogue of the Lambeth manuscripts dated 1763 (LR/F/42), suggesting the library acquired the volume sometime between the mid-seventeenth century and 1763.
