Contents Note

A volume of sermons by William Fleetwood preached mostly in London, mainly in the parish of St Augustine and St Faith, London (or "St A's"), of which he was the rector, and St Dunstan-in-the-West, London (or "St D's"), where he was a lecturer. On f. 34v is a list that appears to be Fleetwood's preaching obligations at these two locations during 1693, 1696-97, and 1707, as well as engagements elsewhere, including Eton College, Wexham, and the King's household at Kensington.

Material Features

i + 226 leaves. Small volume bound in calf. At the end of the volume, the sermons continue in the other direction, back-to-front. Contains an ownership inscription by Fleetwood. There are stubs of a few extracted leaves. According to the LPL catalogue, the sermons are in the hand of Fleetwood.

Purchased by LPL in 1988.

The LPL catalogue notes that these sermons are not published in Fleetwood's collected works, A Compleat Collection of... Sermons (1737). The manuscript generally gives both Old and New Style dates.
