Acquisition

This volume was part of Thomas Carte's (1686-1754) manuscripts that were gradually acquired by the Bodleian during the period from 1753 to 1778. It is likely that this volume was part of the last acquisition in 1778 when Oxford University purchased Mr Jernegan's life interest in Carte's remaining manuscripts, which were then transferred to the Bodleian.
