Paper, iv + 440 leaves (f. 317 doubled), 7 3/4 x 6 1/2 inches. Written in a Scotch hand.

Acquisition

Purchased at auction from Puttick and Simpson on 7 August 1867 for 1£ 1 s. Auction sale catalogue attributes the sermons to Dr. John Owen, dean of Christ Church, Oxford (1616-1683).

Uncertain author. Date uncertain, but the first sermon is dated 6 March 1656. Printed under title "Christ crucify'd or the Marrow of the Gospel" in 1683 or earlier, with author identified as James Durham (1622-1658).
