(old series: GEMMS-MANUSCRIPT-492)
Seven sermons, including four by Andrew Crispe of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, all written in one hand (ff. 3r-65r), and three others all written in another hand (ff. 138v-172, written in reverse). Also includes notes on Hebrews 6:16, which do not appear to be sermon notes but commentary or reflection on this text (i.e. very little other scriptural reference, marginal etc.). They are not included as a separate entry in this database.
Paper, 173 leaves, 6 x 3 7/8 inches.
The manuscript was purchased from Thomas Thorpe by Sir Thomas Phillipps in 1824 (Catalogue part 3, no. 16690) with the buyer's stencilled bookplate. It was number 2676 in the Phillipps library. Sold in the Phillipps sale on 15 June 1896 as part of lot 928.
Purchased by the Bodleian from Messrs. James Parker & Co on 25 June 1896.
