Various theological texts including excerpts from Thomas Walkington's printed sermon on John 20:16, entitled Rabboni: Mary Magdalens teares, of sorrow, solace ... (London, 1620) (ff. 53r-55r). According to the cataloguer, this section of the manuscript was written after Archbishop Laud had sent a letter to the University of Oxford along with some manuscripts. Laud's letter is quoted on f. 66b. The volume also includes directions for how to conduct "extempore private prayers" before and after listening to a sermon (ff. 117r-126v); two sermons on 1 Corinthians 11:28 130r-138r; an exposition of Zechariah 2 from a series of sermons (ff. 150r-157v); a series of notes for forty sermons on Zechariah, preached (according to the cataloguer) by John White, M.A., of New College, Oxford, rector of Holy Trinity, Dorchester between 3 September 1640 and 28 January 1640, and between 31 December 1643 and 7 April 1644 (ff. 163r-216v); "scraps" and notes on other sermons, mostly preached by in Dorchester by Mr. Mather in 1641 and 1645 (ff. 219r-225v). Numerous other theological texts written in English comprise the rest of this large volume, most of them dated during the first half of the seventeenth century.
