The cataloguer notes that some of the sermons in these manuscripts were preached during the reign of Charles II (but before Baylie's death in 1667), but one sermon in MS. Rawl. E. 165 is dated 1645/6. According to the cataloguer, Baylie was identified as the author and preacher by William Dunn Macray.
