Most of the manuscripts comprises the letters of Dr. John Wallis, Savilian Professor of Geometry in the University of Oxford. The manuscript also contains a fragment of a sermon by Dr. Wallis.

Provenance

The sermon fragment was found in the study at Whitchurch in 1785.

Acquisition

This collection of papers was Lot 3106 in the Crossley sale, part 2 (June 20, 1885). It was bought by the library for 8 pounds, 8 shillings.
