A collection of English sermons from the first half of the seventeenth century, preached mostly on consecutive Sundays, spanning from the first Sunday after Easter to the following Easter.

Material Features

Paper, vii + 316 leaves, 8 1/4 x 6 inches. Bound in plain brown leather. F. 39 is torn, and the previous page is missing. The Bible texts are quoted in Latin, but usually only the book and chapter are identified. The words "'Clement Chetsham. Clement Kent" are written on f. 311v in sixteenth-century handwriting. There is an elaborate manicule on f. 21v. Three leaves are cut out after f. 217r.

Acquisition

On f. i is written "Septr 8. 1655. To R. Beckford for binding this. 1s", indicating that the Bodleian acquired the volume in 1655 or slightly earlier.
