The sermons in this manuscript are preceded by and interspersed with a variety of other texts:1) A tract of the Eucharist and of error in fundamentals in the Church; 2) A tract of heresy and schism [a note at the end ascribes this to John Hales]; 3) An answer to certain objections of a protestant divine against the invocation of saints. Dated Aug. 1641; 4) A treatise on whether God is the author of sin, etc.; 5) A letter to Edward Lord Montague from Thomas Whitefield; 6) A tract proving the supremacy of kings and chief civil governors above the high-priest from the creation to the end of the Jewish estate; 7) A note from W. Cant [Laud] that these constitutions were approved in the time of Bancroft; 8) Acta convocationis de suprematu Regio in Ecclesiasticis…; 9) Questions about the observation of the day of the nativity of Christ [Christmas]; 10) Hammond vs. Cornish. c. 1646; 11) The several versions or translations of the Scriptures; 12) A poem or eulogy to Henry Jeffereys; 13) The consecration of Lincoln College chapel, 1631 (see Oxf.
