In addition to sermons inside the 1530-1715 range, this guard-book includes, among other documents: 1) a declaration of Francis Clouet, i.e. Father Bassill of Roan, Capuchin preacher, in which he explains his reasons for leaving the Church of Rome for the Reformed; 2) a sermon by Bishop Boyd Carpenter at Westminster Abbey, 6 February 1916, when the Abbey was darkened for fear of zeppelin attacks; 3) a leaf from a fourteenth-century copy of the Wycliffite 'Pore Catif'; and 4) a sermon on Psalms 151 that is signed and dated 'Joh. Sackette. Folkestone, Jan. 31,1745'.
