Contents Note

Pp. 2-94 are in handwriting of David Papillon of Lubenham and appear to be a draft of an address to both Houses of Parliament concerning the defects of the Church & Commonwealth, with particular reference to military matters. The address to Parliament seems to finish on p 72 ("finis"), but then point 13 begins on p. 73 on the defects of neutrality. The speech opens beseeching the two houses to accept these words as his contribution and shelter him from the curse of Meroz (Judges 5:23).
Pp. 95-end are in a different hand and form a diary of sermons preached by various clergy (Mr Good, Mr Winke, Mr Church, Mr Woodcock) from April 1661 to Nov 1661.
