Contents Note

The volume contains auditor's notes on two sermons by William Bates. On the sheet at the front of the volume, the owner writes "The two sermons contained in this volume were preached during the times of persecution and were probably the transcribed notes of some admiring hearer or hearers for the transcripts seem to be different M.S.S."

Material Features

The volume is bound in leather with blind tooling. The sermons are in different hands. At the front of the volume is pasted a sheet of paper with information provided by R. Brook Aspland, dated Hackney 1868.

Acquisition

The volume bears the Wilson presentation stamp, indicating that it was donated by the widow of Joshua Wilson in 1876.
