Contents Note

The volume is a miscellany owned in 1695 by Sarah Grainger. It contains sermons by Matthew Mead, Thomas Cole, Thomas Shepherd and other unnamed preachers. It also contains two hymns. The sermons are written in a single clear hand, but there are no margins to speak of. The volume also contains materials that tie it to MS I.h.27, in particular Thomas Cole's deathbed sentences in a version different from that in MS I.h.27.

Material Features

The volume is fragile. It is bound in leather.

Acquisition

The volume contains the Wilson presentation stamp, as a bequest from the estate of Joshua Wilson (1876).

Source of Data

Jeanne Shami

Other Note

I have noted Sarah Grainger's dated mark of ownership (1695); however, the volume also has the name Thomas Ginnens (unidentified), but as there is no date attached to his name, it has not been included in the description.
